 A quick guide to fitness, for those coming from the gym. Here we provide general advice on physical activity and nutrition. In addition to health related information, there are also some specific exercises you might be interested in doing once a week such as walking and yoga or even just going for walks at lunch. This will give us an idea of what is good for you that comes with regular exercise. And this is not the only one for you! Any workout you do regularly and safely can help you keep up your stamina, improve your confidence and build strength. It doesn't have to be complicated either. We'll talk about things you're already doing well like running and swimming as well as more complex exercises like weightlifting and circuit training.   Our centres will offer classes depending on your level of fitness, which is why our facilities don't get busy at half-day openings or Saturdays when they're busiest. Check the policies of each centre before signing up to ensure that you only sign up for one session per day. How Flexible Are Classes At My Centre? Gyms vary widely in their approach to flexibility, with some making you walk in and leave instantly, others requiring you to wait outside until they open before entering. Those with flexible booking systems say it takes around 20 minutes to arrive at the facility. Once inside the building, you will usually find classes starting with stretching, mobility, breathing, resistance training and more. These class times rarely exceed 15-20 minutes and include light cardio, stretches, warm-up and cool-down. When choosing between multiple sites, consider what is most convenient for your schedule and how much flexibility you’d enjoy. Is my class inclusive and diverse? Can I join without qualifications if I choose? Yes.
 
 Membership terms often cover full-time training, meaning you don’t need any qualification to participate (unless you want to join as part of a fundraising event or attend a sporting trial). Find out the eligibility requirements by checking your local council website. Where Does One Buy Healthy Food From? Some gyms have vending machines where you can buy healthy food at discounted prices. Prices vary considerably so check the price list carefully before paying. On top of buying fresh produce or meat from farmers, many also cater for vegans and vegetarians. While you don't need to be vegetarian or vegan to join you can still make small adjustments to your meals to reduce your impact on your calorie intake. How Much Will I Pay For My First Class?
